Elaine Baker was the wife of Rick Baker from 1974 to 1984. Rick was the makeup artist for Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. In that film, Elaine performed the original visage of [character:EGqBARIpEeaAugAeyeRIgw|the Emperor] while wearing a mask and a robe. However, [person:kkuEQE6xEeaAugAeyeRIgw] provided the voice, and a chimpanzee provided the eyes.

In later editions of the film, the visage was replaced by one performed entirely by [person:OD2uSxIpEeaAugAeyeRIgw].
