If you've seen the film Adaptation (2002; dir. Spike Jonze), you may recall a scene in which Donald Kaufman is discussing with his brother Charlie a film he wrote. Its plot bears a striking resemblance to the plot (and title) of this film (and the book on which it was based). The similarities, however, are purely coincidental. Ted Dekker, the author of the book, had finished the writing process before Adaptation came out.
However, it's still worth pointing out, due to the strange nature of the coincidence.
