Professor C. Thornton (surname unknown) was a scientist who developed robot technology. He created [character:x13Hyj1ZEeaAugAeyeRIgw], using his own mind as a template for Raymond's underlying AI.

After pursuing other matters after the decline of the robot trade, he lost track of the goings on of the Electronic Detective Agency, so he was unaware that Googol was keeping the business afloat by leveraging Raymond as a for-hire killer.

His ignorance eventually led to his death, when Raymond, pursuaded by Googol, shot him dead.
