The Wicked Witch of the East made her place in Oz by ruling over and enslaving the Munchkins. Under her rule, she assisted an old woman in dismembering Nick Chopper using an enchanted axe.

She eventually met her demise when a house containing Dorothy Gale fell from the sky and landed upon her.
